We currently incubate in Crumbach and IMST incubators.

The eggs are all hand turned.

The eggs are moved to another Crumbach incubator one day prior to hatching-where the temperature is lower and humidity higher-to aid hatching.

After hatching they are moved to a series of brooders each dropping in temperature and then to a heated box, and finally a weaning cage.

All parrots are paired and housed in outdoor aviaries prior to sale, to make sure of compatibility and to allow them to adapt to the outdoor environment.

When incubating eggs from pairs it is very important to keep accurate records.
Each chick has to be kept in separate labelled containers until leg rings can be fitted.

Some of the information we keep is as follows; egg number, date laid, date in incubator, internal pip, external pip, weight day 1, 2, 3, 6, 12, 24, date hatched, fertile Y/N, date due, incubation time, comments.

Then all birds are DNA sexed before they are sold.
