Eckies were one of our first pet birds we purchased a male bird called Zac in 1993 and then a female called Ruby we still have them but now they are breeding birds they chat away to themselves and are still very tame.
They tend to be a one person bird.  Zac did not get along with Nick, hence why he is in the aviary now. Zac & Ruby are now excellent breeders.
When hand raised they can make an adorable pet.
